new leaves

flowers in june – allotment notes 2022

It’s the end of June and perennial, biennial and super-keen leaves and herbs are all flowering. Parsnips especially, look fantastic. Calendula, borage, nasturtium are all self-seeded, and fill in all the waiting spaces. I’ve harvested the garlic to make way for the courgettes, and picked a lot of strawberries and gooseberries. The next set of veg are growing away, and the birds and bugs look on in anticipation. Click an image for slideshow.
